CARPO STUDIO is an architecture and design office.

Carvalho Pontes sets the motto for the appropriation of the Portuguese word for carpus – the bones that form the wrist, connection hand and body. On the symbioses between manual and digital gestures, articulating form with function, our projects are approached with creativity, plasticity and precision, in order to find customized solutions to each new challenge.

CARPO STUDIO was founded in 2016 by Carla Carvalho Pontes (designer) and João Carvalho Pontes (architect) and has projects in the fields of housing, tourism and public buildings (architecture), as well as collaborations in music, dance, theatre and cinema, visual identity developments, and atelier service (design).

CARPO STUDIO is also responsible for developing the womenswear brand CARLA PONTES.

We think it’s essential to interact with the local community by creating positive and collaborative dynamics so we decided to share our space with other creative minds that search for a place to work and collaborate.
